Our Successful Graduates and Their Stories

Nadir's Story:

I was a school drop-out and out in the working world it was difficult to get a promotion or even less a pay raise. If you did not have a diploma you could ensure you would stay doing that work for a very long time.

I needed to find a skill which would ensure that I could succeed and grow. ITVET gave me an opportunity to pursue training as an Automotive Mechanic. The instructors were nothing less than encouraging. Their persistent action in making me succeed was what pushed me to achieve my goal. I even took the “City & Gills” from the London Institute and I passed with Distinction.

Today I work as a Sales Representative at RB’s Multiservice, I deal with the customers’ wants as it relates to auto parts. I take their orders; make the orders; follow up with the orders; and ensure the customers get what was ordered. I also advise and make recommendations to the customers in acquiring the right parts.

Randy's Story:

Randy is the Owner Manager of AC/Tec Belize which is a successful AC & Refrigeration company located in Belize City. Randy graduated from ITVET in  in the AC & Refrigeration Program.

Randy is a full supporter of the ITVET programs and facilitates trainees with On the Job Training experiences. He also from time to time hires ITVET graduates to work for his company.

Randy highly recommends and encourages persons to attend ITVET as it can assist them in pursuing a trade and doing something positive with their lives. He also believes that working hard can get you to the levels that he has reached and able to support a family.

Due to his dedication, hard work and technical expertise, he has done several sub-contracts with big AC & Refrigeration firms throughout the country. His expertise is also felt across the country of Belize when he is called to do jobs outside the City.

Jehan's Story:

Jehan is a proud graduate of the Hospitality Services Program at ITVET. She successfully completed her training program in 2003. Before while attending CET/ITVET she was working part time in the banqueting department at the Princess Hotel & Casino. She had the great privilege of doing job training at the Blue Water Grill in San Pedro which enhanced her knowledge of the industry.

At the end of job training she was offered a job in the kitchen.  In 2003 she was hired full time at the Princess Hotel & Casino where she worked for two years. Within her eight years of being in the Catering & Hospitality Industry she gained tremendous experiences and worked at establishments such as: the Smokey Mermaid, Celebrity Restaurant, The Placencia Hotel & the Crows Nest Restaurant. Currently she is employed at the Celebrity Restaurant as Bartender Supervisor.

“ITVET  has given me the proper skills necessary to succeed in the fast growing world of the tourism industry. It has also given me the confidence to know that I can be placed in any restaurant environment and will prevail no matter what obstacles there are.
I am a true believer that not everyone was born in this world to be a scientist, lawyer, or a doctor. Vocational Technical Education or hands on training is the perfect recipe for persons who want a chance of owning their own business, contribute back to society in a positive way and having the feeling of self worth”

Marcial's Story:
